Endiroth had arrived in Caldera.
A Breton, clothed in white mages' robes, stepped forward from the shady corner in which he was hiding. "Bosmer, you must get out of Caldera as soon as possible! There is a disturbance in the town..." the mage's voice slowly faded into silence. Endiroth thought he heard a gulp. "Alright, then," said the elf, "you can't stop me." The Breton's hastily uttered pleas fell on deaf ears, not that it mattered. The other mages in the building were not, surprisingly, cowering behind tables and chairs. In fact, they were going on with their daily business, casting spells, making potions, and experimenting. When he got to the door, Endiroth opened the door, just enough to peer out. "Chameleon!" Now it was almost safe to go out. He drew his shortsword and sneaked through the half-open door.
Immediately, he realised what the Breton was talking about. There was smoke rising from somewhere in the distance, a guard's shouts, and a guar's calls. Townspeople were fleeing in the other direction, screaming, and Legion members running the toward the source of the chaos. Endiroth followed them, still under the Chameleon spell.
A few minutes later, the backup guards had finally stopped at the scene.

{Sorry to double post again. But we have to move on. Warning: this one might be a bit gory.}
Total destruction met Endiroth's eyes. The roasted, blackened bodies of guards who had been unfortunate enough to cross the blaze's path were scattered around, dormant and bloodied. The elf's keen ears could still pick up the crackling of fire and flesh. The corpses were disregarded. And on a few of them, a guar had trodden. It was more blood than Endiroth had ever seen in his life. Sickened and retching, he decided to go back the way he came.
The Bosmer didn't bother with a polite entrance. Arm over his mouth, he shouted for the teleportation mage. 'Please, get me back to... anywhere! Anywhere but here. No blood... please...' The mage nodded matter-of-factly and cast the spell.
